Weylandts’ INTERSPATIAL: Frontiers of Design collection offers an immersive journey through time, where raw materials and their layered history come together to form a narrative of design. This collection speaks to the gravitas of earthly formations, where marbles, metals, and stone form a rich palimpsest – a tactile archive of the natural world.
At the core of INTERSPATIAL lies a reverence for elemental materials. The collection, which unfolds across a trio of evocative narratives, brings to life richly veined marbles such as Capri Beige, Luna Lava, and Delta Strata – each selected for its ancient origins and distinct character. These stones are not simply sourced; they are discovered, unearthed with intention by Chris and Anna Weylandt, who explore marble yards like celestial terrains, hand-picking slabs that carry the memory of millennia. Their design process is a study in intuition and craftsmanship, underpinned by the brand’s philosophy of simplicity and a deep connection to texture and material.
MÓNOS
In MÓNOS, monumental forms take shape through bold materials like Red and Grey Travertine, Mango Wood, and oxidised Aluminium. This series of sculptural stools and carved blocks honours geological time, with surfaces that refract, reflect, and evolve.
STRIATUS
STRIATUS, the second realm, delves into sediment and marble. Here, the designs are shaped by flowing water and mineral deposits. Tables crafted from Delta Nero, Fantasy Brown, and Capri Beige marbles, often paired with fluted or curved Mango Wood bases, echo riverbeds and organic formations, their finishes soft, leathered, and textured to reveal each stone’s unique narrative.
LINTEUM
Finally, LINTEUM explores the world of woven textiles. Sofas and armchairs are dressed in tactile fabrics such as Velvet Kenza, Bouclé Savile, and Plush Pebble, each evoking topographical depth and tonal richness. These upholstered pieces become soft sculptures in their own right – modular, shapeshifting, and designed for both comfort and statement.
Months of careful research and material development have shaped the INTERSPATIAL collection, ensuring every object is both sculptural and practical. The result is a series of pieces that blend form and function, creating a sense of atmosphere within the home – where furniture becomes an invitation to pause, reflect, and journey inward.
