From leading sustainable store design and local brand flagship store openings, there have been some new arrivals to the upper level of the V&A Waterfront’s Victoria Wharf shopping centre
Country Road‘s reimagined V&A Waterfront store is targeting a 5-Star Green Star interior certification from the Green Building Council of South Africa with his bold – and eco-friendly – design. If awarded, the accreditation reaffirms Country Road’s long-standing commitment to be a world-leading lifestyle brand.
The store’s interiors have incorporated materials such as recycled polyester yarn, recycled wool and recycled plastics for the store fittings as well as a curated collection of furniture sourced locally.

Known for their bold jewellery and accessories, local brand Pichulik’s designs are rooted in Africa, inspired by ancient traditions, mythology and cultures around the world. Handcrafted from unexpected materials the brand’s jewellery is distinguished by its innovative and sculptural use of repurposed rope, combined with cast-brass elements, and embellished with a variety of precious stones and organic materials.

Founded in 2019 by Mikael Hanan, FIELDS offers high quality, locally-produced menswear. Through collaborations with local artists, the brand creates unique designs and prints. The brand’s second store – their flagship is at the Old Biscuit Mill – FIELDS can now be found in the corridors of the V&A Waterfront.
