Volume 16 (Play), Autumn 2025

party time

An unforgettable gathering in the sky, where art, fashion, and craft converged in a luminous celebration, transforming a historic penthouse into a stage for design, music, and imagination
A night of rhythm and artistry, with Alessandro Gigli curating the soundscape alongside Philip Kramer, and live performances by Inge Beckmann, Boemo Diale, and BANGERZ & MA$H setting the mood. The details extended to the table, where handcrafted ceramics by Mervyn Gers added to the immersive experience. Hosted in an iconic Art Deco penthouse, the event was a celebration of creativity in all its forms.
Set high above the city in the storied Mutual Heights, the House and Leisure x NURU soirée brought together a vibrant collective of designers, artists, and makers to celebrate the launch of House and Leisure Volume 16 (Play) and the opening of NURU African Collective Showroom. With curation by Viviers Studio and fashion styling by Kristi Vlok, the evening blended design, fashion, and food in a spectacular showcase. Guests enjoyed striking food installations by Studio H and Mia Everson, MCC by Krone, and refreshments from Babylonstoren, all set against the exquisite floral work of Botanicus.

House and Leisure and NURU African Collective Showroom brought together an inspiring community of designers, artists, and makers, supported by Mohair South Africa and Cape Wools SA. With contributions from Local Studio, Botanicus, and Studio H, every element reflected a shared commitment to heritage, innovation, and craftsmanship. A night of play, collaboration, and boundless creativity – here’s to many more.
