With the launch of Fieldwork, her newest colour collection for Olympic Paints, multidisciplinary designer Nisha van der Hoven invites us to slow down and reconnect with the tactile beauty of our everyday spaces.

Inspired by the rhythms of land, craft and considered living, Fieldwork is a grounded, expressive palette that celebrates natural tones, honest textures, and the imperfect beauty of materials shaped by hand. These are colours that don’t shout – they settle, evolve and quietly transform a space over time.

Think sun-warmed earth, weathered stone, softened clay and layered neutrals that feel deeply human and effortlessly modern. But Fieldwork doesn’t stop at walls. The collection comes to life inside the Olympic Colour Café, a world-first colour experience currently in development and opening soon at Centurion Mall. Designed in collaboration with Nishaʼs Johannesburg-based design studio, Hoven, the Colour Café is not just a place to grab a coffee – it’s a mood-driven design destination where colour, creativity and conversation meet.

Here, visitors are encouraged to explore how colour makes them feel. From the warmth of your first sip to the palette that catches your eye, every detail has been curated to create an immersive, sensory journey. Wood, texture, tone and trend sit side by side, much like a perfectly balanced blend. Walls speak. Surfaces tell stories. And colour becomes emotional, personal, and intuitive. 

At the Olympic Colour Café, décor meets design, coffee becomes connection, and expert guidance helps translate inspiration into real-world spaces. Whether your style leans bold and expressive or calm and considered, minimalist or maximalist, there’s a mood, and a room, waiting to match your energy.
