Perhaps the most magical part of this edition is the emergence of an accidental golden thread that wasn’t forced during our creative process, but rather came about organically as the stories took shape: The features within this Embrace edition all started speaking to the concept of home, belonging and homecoming.

This is uncovered via a multitude of voices in the following pages of our MOOD chapter (see our cover story on p34 for a longing love letter to nostalgia). We explore this further in LOOK, a “woven” (or rather printed) tapestry of themes such as collaboration, friendship, family and motherhood, while our LIVE chapter is an eclectic mix of homes created by people who have a very clear understanding of who they are in terms of style and identity (some of our country’s most celebrated style icons).

And for a further focus on family, the DIGEST chapter explores families that have forged incredible bonds through their brands. If you’re one to start reading a magazine on the last page (I have questions), turn to p264 for our End Note (A new beginning, not an end – you’ll never look at an orange in the same way again…).

Throughout these pages, we honour honest homes and the people who are returning to the real authentic self: Spaces that are eclectic, messy and colourful. They are often labelled eccentric, but also point a slight middle finger to the present-day dull of what’s out there – the world is anything but. Here, we celebrate these homes and the makers that have that magic touch 😉

In a world currently consumed by the digital and AI, aren’t we all in the mood for something a little more real? For homes that reveal their honest self: layers, clutter, colour, books, things! More human. More homely. More personal. More warm. ‘Home’ as a snug hug and an embrace.

See you in summer for Volume 19!
