a three-night stay in the Rooi Cederberg’s Bakkrans Nature Reserve worth R49 500

*Subscribe to House and Leisure and stand a chance to win a three-night self-catering stay for up to eight guests at Bakkrans Nature Reserve.

In the Rooi Cederberg Karoo Park lies this historic settlement of stone cottages, once shepherds’ huts, now lovingly restored to offer an exclusive mountain escape in pristine wilderness. By day, enjoy scenic drives, hikes, bird-watching, game-tracking, fossil-hunting, and explore ancient rock-art sites. By night, gaze up at an uninterrupted starry sky, read a book by the fire, or simply unwind in the stillness of the remote retreat.

About five hours’ drive from Cape Town, Bakkrans is a unique natural getaway dedicated to preserving the delicate surrounding ecosystems. Read more about this off-grid retreat on p148 of Volume 14 (Discover).

The prize includes three nights’ self-catering accommodation in four double rooms, for a total of eight people: the entire reserve and its facilities are exclusively reserved for the winning group. Cell reception is limited, but central WiFi is available. Kitchens and bathrooms are fully equipped and firewood, ice, and housekeeping services are provided. The camp manager will be on hand to offer any assistance.
