Win This Custom Woodbender Kariba Chair Worth R3800
In our June/July issue's Curate feature, we show you what goes on behind the scenes at a decor shoot, contrasting striking pieces of design with mundane packing materials such as bubble wrap, cardboard and tape. This juxtaposition allowed the objects to be admired in their own right, unencumbered by a perfectly curated setting. One such piece is the custom Woodbender Kariba chair on page 19, which we had specially made for the shoot.
Named after a town on Lake Kariba, a landmark on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe that's known for its juxtaposition of tranquil waters and rugged landscape, the custom Woodbender Kariba chair reflects contrasting beauty, and the sophistication of raw forms. 'Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication, and we kept this in mind when designing the Kariba,' says Woodbender R&D Manager Grant Longmore. 'There was a need in the market for a dining chair that is both compact and comfortable, and we felt that a simple silhouette with a slightly wider seat would be the answer.'
The Kariba chair provides exactly that, boasting a tilted backrest and sloping arms that allow for easy relaxation around the dining table. It consists of considerably fewer parts and joins than previous Woodbender designs, resulting in a pared-back and durable chair with a distinctly modern aesthetic. As with all Woodbender designs, this latest offering is fully customisable: it can be upholstered in a fabric of your choice and is available in any of the brand's 15 timber finishes.
Inspired by its distinct silhouette and customisable nature, we asked the woodbending specialists to create a custom Woodbender Kariba chair to be included in our latest Curate feature. They responded with a contemporary yellow piece upholstered in Nifty Cayenne fabric by Hertex, and we couldn't have been happier. Now we're giving you the chance to win this custom Woodbender Kariba chair, which is worth R3800, by entering our competition. Simply fill out the form below and get ready to add this statement piece to your furniture collection.
Competition closes 31 July 2019.
